Local Government Advisory Committee

The Local Government Advisory Committee (LGAC) advises the Executive Council on how to most effectively, equitably, and expeditiously engage and implement the support of local governments to achieve the goals of the Bay Agreement.  LGAC’s goal is to ensure that local governments fully participate in the design, development, and implementation of programs to protect and improve the Chesapeake Bay.

Citizens Advisory Committee

The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) provides advice and guidance to the Chesapeake Executive Council as needed in implementing the Chesapeake Bay clean up goals (Chesapeake 2000 Agreement). Since 1984, the Alliance has staffed this committee, which provides a non-governmental perspective on the Bay cleanup effort and on how Bay Program policies affect citizens who live and work in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

Circuit Rider

In conjunction with the Local Government Advisory Committee the Circuit Rider program provides technical assistance, coordination, and facilitation to local governments within York County, Pennsylvania.  The York County Circuit Rider helps local governments develop and implement water quality projects that directly reduce nutrients, phosphorous, and sediment flowing into the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
