Dominion employees after volunteering at a Project Clean Stream site.Everyone has a role to play in Bay restoration, especially the business community. While many businesses are keenly focused on their sustainability efforts, some businesses in the watershed are beginning to expand their role in supporting Chesapeake Bay restoration.
To make the connection between business sustainability efforts and continued progress in Bay restoration, the Alliance is hosting an important and innovative gathering of small and large business leaders called the Chesapeake Business Forum.[button link=”/2016/08/chesapeake-business-forum-2014/” color=”default” size=”” stretch=”” type=”” shape=”” target=”_blank” title=”” gradient_colors=”|” gradient_hover_colors=”|” accent_color=”” accent_hover_color=”” bevel_color=”” border_ icon_position=”left” icon_divider=”no” modal=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”1″ ]View Chesapeake Business Forum Details & Registration >>[/button]The Chesapeake Business Forum will bring together over 100 leaders from the regional business community and will be the first in a series of Forums for Business. Instead of a long list of speakers, the Forum will focus on smaller, business-specific discussions. Through panel discussions, break out sessions, and facilitated face to face dialogue we will encourage development of actions and strategies to shape future efforts.[separator style_type=”double” ] [three_fifth class=”acb-img-content-wrap dv-p-text blockquote” ]We want to expand the way we think of environmental sustainability and restoration in an innovative and meaningful way; and we believe listening to and partnering with the business community is the best way of achieving this.[separator style_type=”double” ] This unique summit will offer businesses an engaging and interactive venue in which to share, brainstorm, prioritize, and discuss opportunities for enhancing business sustainability in 2014 and beyond and explore ways to better align and communicate their contributions to environmental protection and restoration as well.
The Forum will be held at Dominion’s Innsbrook Technical Center, in Richmond, VA, on March 27, 2014. It will be facilitated by the UVA Institute for Environmental Negotiation.
The Forum will also set the stage for an ongoing sustainability partnership with the Alliance, Businesses for the Bay.
