[imageframe link=”https://www.allianceforthebay.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/UphamBrook.jpg” ] Upham Brook is a tributary of the Chickahominy River that flows through the urban areas of Henrico County and City of Richmond. It is polluted by bacteria and other runoff contaminants. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is partnering with the Alliance and other community groups and county and city officials to do on-the-ground pollution reduction and restoration projects, provide outreach and watershed education to homeowners, and create a model for implementing local Chesapeake Bay cleanup plans. The Alliance is training volunteers to conduct homeowner stormwater runoff audits through our Chesapeake RiverWise Communities program. We are also training volunteers to be water quality monitors through our RiverTrends program.
