In December 2023, our CEO, Kate Fritz received a phone call from George Glatfelter, a former Alliance Board Member and steadfast donor. George and his wife Beverly wanted to make a special gift of $50,000 to an organization with the best plan to leverage their support. They chose to make that meaningful gift to the Alliance and establish our first major donor society to support the exponential growth of the Alliance’s work.

In the last four years, our program budget has grown from $7.8M to $20.7M, and our staff has grown by 50 percent. This is our most substantial expansion in the Alliance’s entire 53-year history. Imagine 2,500 new forest acres planted, 10,000 volunteers engaged, and 7,500 stormwater management practices, like rain barrels and native plant gardens, installed in our watershed – all in the next five years.
To achieve these ambitious goals and more, we need our most strategic, forward-thinking friends to join together and invest annually in the Alliance’s critical infrastructure and operations support. In order to sustain our rapid growth, we must prioritize annual investments in our own capacity to support the diverse needs of 60+ conservation experts and educators as they deliver programs and results across the watershed.
