Cumberland County Tree Stewards Training

Want to strengthen your tree knowledge and be a community leader? Become a volunteer Tree Steward today! 

The Alliance is hosting a four-part, online Tree Stewards training for Cumberland County, PA residents. In this training, attendees will leave equipped with the skills necessary to organize and lead tree planting projects, assess potential new tree planting sites, care for existing trees, and access a variety of technical and financial resources to support their endeavors.

Dates:

  1. January 28th, 6:30-7:30pm – Virtual training session #1 – Covers tree and soil biology
  2. February 4th, 6:30-7:30pm – Virtual training session #2 – Covers site assessment and tree selection
  3. February 11th, 6:30-7:30pm – Virtual training session #3 – Covers tree planting and maintenance
  4. February 18th, 6:30-7:30pm – Virtual training session #4 – Covers developing planting plans and developing a planting project
  5. April 2025, specific time and location TBD – In-person tree planting (optional)

Tree Stewards training is free, and the training sessions will be a 30-minute presentation, followed by Q&A. Each virtual training will be recorded and shared with registrants. Upon training completion, Tree Stewards will receive a virtual certificate and will be added to a Tree Stewards email list to hear about upcoming opportunities/events.
