Dr. Janeé Potts is a distinguished cybersecurity expert with extensive experience across the public and private sectors. She holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology with a specialization in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity (2020), an M.S. in Information Technology/Cybersecurity from Florida Institute of Technology (2014), and both a B.S. and A.A.S. in Information Technology, earned with honors from Purdue University (2012, 2010).
Dr. Potts is a Deputy Program Manager for Infrastructure at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, VA. In this role, she supervises project leaders and manages cross-functional teams, ensuring the successful delivery of complex initiatives that support DARPA’s strategic goals. Her leadership drives the execution of critical infrastructure projects, focusing on communication, accountability, and high-level reporting.
From July 2020 until recently, Dr. Potts served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. At Columbia, she developed and taught graduate-level cybersecurity and cybersecurity policy courses, advising students and creating comprehensive instructional materials. She also played a crucial role in supporting special needs learners through tailored educational resources, including video and audio media recordings.
Janeé’s hobbies include ice hockey, fishing, hiking, and spending time with her animals: Athena, Oakley, and Kiki B.
