Vice Chair
Susan Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Princeton University (1982), a Masters in Environmental Science from Rutgers University (1991), and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University (2002).
Susan joined Mobil Oil Corporation shortly after receiving her undergraduate degree. In the 80’s and 90′, Susan was a co-author / co-contributor to several published technical articles and patents. In March of 2017, Susan retired from ExxonMobil after 33 years in a variety of positions with responsibilities in the US and across the globe.
Susan began her community volunteerism in earnest in March 2006 when she joined the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS). She achieved the rank of Private and served as an Emergency Medical Technician and an Ambulance Driver. In January 2009, Susan was elected to the BCCRS Board of Directors and served there until December 2013.
In August 2017, Susan began volunteering with the Alliance, supporting marketing and development activities. She was elected to the Alliance Board effective Jan 2019.
Susan’s hobbies include tennis, golf, kayaking, paddle boarding, snow skiing & traveling. Susan resides in Maryland with her fiancĂ©, and is happily within a reasonable distance to her two sons, daughter-in-laws, four grandsons, and one granddaughter.
