It was with great pleasure that the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay recognized Teddi Stark as our 2021 Pennsylvania Watershed Champion. Teddi is a warrior for riparian forest buffers. We recognized that her passion for the reforestation of our watershed and leadership at DCNR has resulted in increased funding for buffers in Pennsylvania and for the Alliance.
It was with great pleasure that the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay recognized Dr. Alan Anderson as our 2021 Maryland Watershed Champion at our “Taste: Celebrate 50 Years on September 23rd. We recognized him for his work through our partnership with Bowie State University, and his commitment to ensuring his students have an opportunity to build skills related to environmental conservation. Dr. Anderson has been incredibly giving of his time to this partnership, and his efforts have created year-round meaningful watershed experiences for students in the classroom and beyond.
It was with great pleasure that the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay recognized Michael Powell as our 2021 Virginia Watershed Champion at “The Taste: Celebrate 50 Years” on September 23rd. His vision for John B. Cary Elementary School’s Eco Campus has prioritized outdoor learning and environmental literacy. Not only has he added trees and gardens to the campus, but his sensibility to stormwater runoff and replacing turf has created an outdoor space where all students can become environmental stewards.
