Tree Planting in Dover – Replanting event

November 14th, 2024 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

One of the best actions you can do to improve the health of the Bay is to plant trees. Be a part of the Alliance’s reforestation efforts by volunteering with us this Fall!

Tree planting sites need regular maintenance for the first 3-5 years after their installation to give young saplings a fighting chance at becoming a forest. Part of this maintenance is to replace dead trees with new, vibrant ones in the early years. Come join us for a replanting event.

What to wear & bring

Please dress for the weather, we are rain or shine! Volunteers need to wear long pants, clothes that can get dirty, and close-toed shoes (boots recommended). We also recommend a hat, bug spray, sunscreen, and gloves if you have them. Please bring water for yourself. Shovels will be provided.

Accessibility

  • Volunteers should be prepared to walk, bend, stoop, and kneel, dig, and do some minor lifting. A planting demonstration will be given at the beginning of the event.
  • Children of all ages are welcome to attend with their guardians.
  • Bathrooms are not available.
  • Please follow all parking directions when arriving.

Location

This planting location is in Dover. Upon successful registration for this event, the exact event address will be sent to the registrant. Reminder emails are also sent approximately 3 days prior to the event and the day of the event via email.

If you have any questions, please email Cathleen Anthony at canthony@allianceforthebay.org.
