Home / Events / Volunteer Opportunity: Frederick, MD Tree Planting with Giant
Tulip Pond Farm was started in the 1980’s by Carole and David Doody. The family has been on the ground in Union Bridge, Maryland ever since. Now helping on the farm is daughter Cathleen Wastler, who serves as a member of the Maryland & Virginia Leadership Council, a group of 99 dairy farmer members that help guide the direction of MDVA. The couple’s second daughter, Carissa, can often be found on the farm with her children Leroy and Loretta as well.
The family milks around 180 cows and has 700 acres of land. The planting will take place along a one-acre area of stream to help protect the waterway from erosion and runoff. The planting will consist of local species including oaks, maples, and willows.
Consider joining us and Giant Food in on our tree planting efforts at Tulip Pond Farm on April 28th. Please find more details and register here.
